Moor Trees benefits from the time, commitment and dedication of its trustees and we are now seeking additional people to join the Board to be elected at our upcoming AGM on Sunday 29th September 2024. We are seeking people who are committed to supporting the charity to achieve its vision to increase the area of native tree coverage on Dartmoor delivering for the climate and nature. As a trustee you will have overall responsibility for the governance of the charity and will meet regularly every four to eight weeks with the rest of the Board and Chief Executive once elected by our members.
Jenny Isaac, Chair of the Board of Trustees says, “Moor Trees is extremely fortunate to have a strong, committed, and inspiring board of trustees and we are on the look out for others to join us to help guide the charity towards achieving its bold ambition to dramatically change the landscape on Dartmoor by increasing the area of native woodland.
If you are passionate about grassroots organisations and want to do your bit to act for climate and nature then volunteering with Moor Trees as one of our trustees could be for you.”
We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience but are particularly looking for individuals at this time with experience in developing commercial income streams, expanding volunteering engagement, raising funds from the philanthropy sector, legal and financial expertise as well as Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks.
By becoming a trustee you will help to ensure that the charity is effectively run and delivering to its stated purpose as outlined in our Articles of Association as well as making sure that we have a strategy and clear direction for delivery. You will also ensure the financial stability of the organisation, safeguard the good name and value of Moor Trees and oversee our compliance with our governing documents and charity law. You will also be an ambassador for the charity at events or engaging with our stakeholders.
