To conclude a year of celebrations for our 25th anniversary, activities have been capped off with an important new fundraiser to help us to continue our valuable work to restore native woodland on Dartmoor.
Our latest Crowdfunder has a target of £25,000 which will support our ongoing activity to ensure the essential next steps towards a wilder Dartmoor. Thanks to generous match funding from the Aviva Community Fund, every pound you donate will be doubled, making your support go twice as far! Every £1 donated becomes £2 for seed collection, nurturing, and planting the woodlands of the future.

Zoe Partridge, Fundraising Manager, says: “Donations are really important to support our ongoing work and this Crowdfunder highlights how much we are able to achieve with the help and support of our volunteers. As a charity it is really important that we have the backing of the local community. These funds will be used to help us provide more opportunities to be at the forefront of nature’s recovery on Dartmoor.”
For 25 years, we have witnessed the incredible power of community. It’s thanks to dedicated people that Moor Trees has been able to restore temperate rainforest and plant native woodlands across Dartmoor.
We understand that financial support is not always possible, but your dedication is always welcome:
1. Gift Your Time: Moor Trees was founded by volunteers, and they remain our true foundation. If you can, please consider gifting your time at our nurseries or out at tree planting days this winter. It’s an opportunity to discover the joy of conservation, just like one of our volunteers shared: “I now know that I truly enjoy every part of the process and am excited to continue sowing from seed to sapling.”
2. Watch for Rewards: Throughout the campaign, we’ll be releasing exclusive rewards—perfect for thoughtful, environmentally friendly Christmas gifts for the people in your life. Keep an eye on our campaign page for details!
Time is not on our side when it comes to the climate and nature crises, but together, we can take tangible action today. Thank you for the support you can give to help Moor Trees in our mission to breathe more like back into Dartmoor.
A special thank you to the volunteers who are featured in the film to accompany the Crowdfunder and also the landowners who kindly permitted the filming of their woodlands.
