OUR FUNDERS
THANK YOU TO OUR FUNDERS & PARTNERS
Moor Trees is reliant on the support of our corporate partners and donors. Two-thirds of our income comes from partnerships, grants and donations. The charity is supported by individuals and organisations in a range of ways and we are keen to explore new partnership opportunities to help us continune our work and improve our impact. Please get in touch if you can help.
Our funders and partners

Utility Warehouse
We are working with Utility Warehouse, the UK’s leading multiservice supplier to help restore and regenerate native woodland across Dartmoor. This partnership will see up to 90,000 trees from local provenance stock planted in the Dartmoor area over the next three winters. They are currently being grown in our two community tree nurseries.

Woodland Trust
Funding from the Woodland Trust includes sponsoring our annual Seed Gathering programme. In 2025/26 we have also hosted a roundtable to discuss the demand for Dartmoor provenance trees and provide one to one peer support for other Community Tree Nurseries and hosting workshops to share best practice.

The Duchy of Cornwall
Moor Trees is working with the Duchy of Cornwall with its woodland creation and restoration plans. This includes growing trees sourced from the ancient temperate rainforest Wistman's Wood to use as part of a multi-year programme of expansion around this Site of Special Scientific Interest on Dartmoor as well as planting woodland, riparian corridors and wood pasture elsewhere on the estate.

NatureSave Insurance
Based locally to the charity NatureSave Insurance generously gifted the charity with a grant to help with the purchase of a new truck to support our Operations, It has transformed how we have been able to transport items and volunteers between our sites especially during the Winter tree planting season.

Headwaters Project
Moor Trees partnered on this pioneering trial aiming to boost flood resilience and help re-establish Dartmoor’s ancient woodland pastures and temperate rainforests utilising planting methods including the high density Myawaki method. Dartmoor National Park Authority is leading the project funded by the Environment Agency and Devon County Council with monitoring and research by the University of Plymouth.

South West Lakes Trust
During winter 2023-24 we planted 1,330 trees around Venford reservoir. The trees will provide a kick start for natural regeneration at Venford following the planned felling of the existing trees, leaving a more native and natural feeling woodland with improved, stable soils and greater plant and animal diversity.

SWRA member
The SWRA is a partnership of organisations and individuals committed to actively conserving and restoring these temperate rainforests, and working with landowners and other agencies to identify suitable locations for more woodlands to be created and expanded into the future.
Its members have united to pursue a shared vision: a rainforest landscape that is thriving once again – richer in biodiversity, better connected, and more resilient to future threats.

Member of Devon Chamber
The support of the local business community is vital to Moor Trees. Being a member of the Devon Chamber provides us with networking opportunities to help raise awareness of our work but also engage with businesses to help them act locally for the climate and nature.

Environmental Partner
1% for the Planet was founded on the idea that a company has a responsibility to give back for use of our planet’s resources. By joining as an Environmental Partner we are able to access these funds by collaborating with other 1% for the planet members who commit to donating at least 1% of annual sales directly to environmental organisations such as Moor Trees.
