Moor Trees is a charity on a mission to restore native woodland on Dartmoor and surrounding areas.
We are more than just tree planters, we want to restore entire landscapes, creating thriving habitats and sequestering carbon for generations to come.
Join our community of businesses sharing in the Moor Trees vision and passion to see 10 million more trees growing across Dartmoor and the surrounding areas by 2050. Dartmoor’s current woodland cover of approximately 12% presents a significant opportunity for ecological restoration. We want to see 10 million trees take root by 2050, through carefully planned planting and natural regeneration which will increase tree cover to one-third of the landscape. This will revitalise depleted habitats, expand existing wooded river valleys and create woodland corridors for our declining wildlife.

This is about so much more than simply planting trees to tackle the climate crisis. Not only will the woodland you support help to capture carbon; it will also build resilient habitats for native wildlife, which boosts essential biodiversity as well as the potential of the trees increasing protection against flooding to help the local area to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
Moor Trees does not participate in carbon sequestration projects under the Woodland Carbon Code and your donation will not generate formal offsets. The woodlands we create together will mitigate climate change, create vital habitats for wildlife and provide places for people to enjoy for generations to come.
